BlueSky is an ISP located at 25 Somerset Street, Graaff-Reinet.

Bluesky Express is an ICASA Licenced Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP).

Our coverage footprint is nearly 10 000 sq Km in size and since we are based in Graaff Reinet, we are ideally positioned to provide service in some of the most remote locations imaginable. We have coverage in districts of Graaff Reinet, Nieu Bethesda, Aberdeen, Middleburg, Murraysburg, Noupoort, Jansenville, Steytlerville and Klipplaat.

Bluesky Express was launched in 2009, in response to the dire need for reliable connectivity in the rural area around Graaff Reinet. We started with 2 ADSL lines which were fed into a archaic distribution network, but at the time it was the best we could do in terms of client need and affordability.

The growth in data demand, as well as our customer base and in the improved technology have enabled Bluesky Express to grow substantially, to the point where our aggregate speed is now 40 times what it was when we started…………… and growing !!!!!!!!!!!

Our service is backed by a Metro E fibre link in Graaff Reinet, routed via our wireless backbone through a series of towers in our coverage area, to our customers. All but 3 of our towers run on Solar power, with the remaining ones being equipped with sufficient backup power in the event of electricity supply problems.

We pride ourselves on maintaining a personal relationship with our valued customers. We recognise that some of our customers are not comfortable with the “One size fits all” mentality. In accordance with our mission statement, we offer a range of customisable options, including, but not limited to:

  • Customisable speed options – eg: businesses need fast internet during the day but not at night.
  • Customisable access options – eg: Clients only in residence for 3 months of the year, only pay when they are using.
  • Datalinks – Links for IP / Security cameras back to server.
  • Last mile access – We will work with remote customers to develop workable solutions such as installing small sub towers.
